Endothelial inclusions in dermatomyositis.

چکیده
Abnormalities of the microvasculature of muscle from patients with polymyositis have been reported by Gonzilez-Angulo, Fraga, and Mintz (1968). These changes were similar to those of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and scleroderma (Norton, Hurd, Lewis, and Ziff, 1968). Although the nature of the vascular injury is unknown, the capillaries of active lesions of SLE have recently been shown to contain characteristic endothelial inclusions (Gyorkey, Min, Sinkovics, and Gyorkey, 1969; Norton, 1969). The present report describes the occurrence of similar inclusions in skin and muscle of dermatomyositis. Attempts to define the nature -of the inclusions are described and their possible

Tubuloreticular inclusions in juvenile dermatomyositis: a diagnostically useful marker?
Introduction Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM) is a rare life threatening disease affecting children. Symptoms include severe proximal muscle weakness and characteristic skin rashes. Vascular pathology is often a key finding in JDM including typical features of capillary drop out and abnormal blood vessel endothelial cells. We have observed that another common finding in JDM biopsies is the presen...

متن کاملDermatomyositis: ultrastructure of abnormal mitochondria in the skeletal muscle.
The mitochondrial anomalies observed in the skeletal muscle of a patient with dermatomyositis included paracrystalline inclusions, dense bodies and stacks of lamellae. Virions were not found. These anomalies are similar to those noted in other myopathies.
متن کاملInflammatory muscle diseases.
The three major immune-mediated inflammatory myopathies, dermatomyositis (DM), polymyositis (PM) and inclusion body myositis (IBM), each have their own distinctive clinical features, underlying pathogenetic mechanisms and patterns of muscle gene expression. In DM a complement-dependent humoral process thought to be initiated by antibodies to endothelial cells results in a microangiopathy with s...
